Welcome, Rev. McCrory

A hearty welcome to our new interim minister, Rev. Robert McCrory, who began his ministry with two churches–the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls and ours–on November 1st. He conducts services at First Baptist Church of Glens Falls at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays and moves to Hudson Falls at 11:15.

Educational Series

An educational series of interactive studies called “The Arts of Compassion: Relating
Scripture and the Arts” will be offered during the six Sundays of Lent beginning
on February 26 through April 1. Each session will seek to understand God’s call
to compassion through discussion of Scripture and forms of visual and verbal art.
Presentations and discussion will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by a light supper at
6:30. Following is the complete schedule:

February 26, Hudson Falls Baptist Church: Compassion for Those Who Need Help,
led by Rev. Jeff Palmer.
March 4, Kingsbury Baptist Church: Compassion for Those in Broken Relationships,
led by Rev. Kathleen Davie.
March 11, Fort Edward, Village Baptist Church: Compassion for Those Who Are
Outcasts, led by Rev. Robert McCrory.
March 18, Glens Falls, First Baptist Church: Compassion for Those Who Seek to
Know, led by Rev. Don Shuler.
March 25, Fort Edward, Village Baptist Church: Compassion for the Sick, led by Rev.
Sandra Spaulding.
April 1, Kingsbury Baptist Church: Compassion for the Dying and Grieving, led by
Rev. Regina Haag.

Everyone is welcome to attend any or all sessions. The study series will culminate in
a special joint Pentecost service to be held June 3 (location to be announced). This
series is sponsored by Churches in Discussion for Cooperative Ministry, which plans
the shared education program for the four American Baptist Churches in Glens Falls,
Hudson Falls, Kingsbury, and Fort Edward.

First Baptist Member Leaving for Seoul

Kealy Whiting of First Baptist Church, Glens Falls departed on Sunday for Seoul,
South Korea, where she will be teaching first graders in an intensive English
program in a private school.

Before she set out, she was commissioned by her church. Rev. Robert McCrory led a
prayer of consecration to bless her work in Seoul.

Whiting spent last year teaching English in Seoul to multiple age groups in the
public sector.
