The Baptist Bargain Basement
The Baptist Bargain Basement Store's mission is to provide clothing and other goods to the community at bargain prices and to raise funds for supporting a wide variety of missions in the Glens Falls area.
Clothing and other small household goods donated by the church members and the public are sorted and sold by an all-volunteer staff. The store also works in coordination with the Red Cross and Warren and Washington Counties Family Services in cases of urgent or emergency need to provide clothing to those in need.
Funds raised from sales are distributed by a monthly meeting of the store's volunteers. April's mission distributions included:
- $500 to buy vitamins for the Glens Falls Medical Mission
- $500 for the Shriners to care for burn victims
- $500 for Charitas, a local agency that provides assistance for family members of persons with terminal illnesses
- $500 for the Glens Falls Big Brothers Big Sisters
Store hours are Monday thru Saturday, 9:30 - noon. Donations are gladly received during all store hours. Volunteers from the public are welcome. Please speak to a store staff member if you wish to help.
